All your tasks are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server, and no AI models are trained on your data. Your tasks never leave your device unless you explicitly export or email them.
Will my tasks sync across devices?
No. Because everything is stored locally on your device, tasks won't automatically sync. However, you can use the Export/Import feature to manually transfer your tasks between devices. This is a deliberate privacy-first design choice.
How do I backup my tasks?
Click the "📥 Export" button to download a JSON file containing all your tasks and lists. Save this file somewhere safe. You can restore it anytime using the "📤 Import" button.
What browsers are supported?
Todolet works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience with PWA features (install to home screen, offline mode), we recommend Chrome or Edge on desktop, and Chrome or Safari on mobile.
Can I install Todolet as an app?
Yes! Todolet is a Progressive Web App (PWA). On mobile, tap "Add to Home Screen" when prompted. On desktop Chrome/Edge, look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar. Once installed, it works just like a native app and functions offline.
How do I use tags?
Simply type a hashtag in your task text, like "Buy groceries #shopping #urgent". Tags will be automatically extracted and displayed. You can use tags to organize and categorize your tasks.

What happens if I clear my browser data?
If you clear your browser's localStorage, all your tasks will be lost. This is why we recommend regularly exporting your tasks as a backup. Remember: privacy-first means your data only exists on your device.
