1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Todolet ("the Service"), available at todolet.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Todolet ("we", "us", or "our"), a business based in the United Kingdom.

2. Description of Service

Todolet is a web-based task management application that stores data locally in your browser. The Service is provided free of charge and includes features such as:

  • Creating and managing task lists
  • Setting due dates and recurring tasks
  • Organising tasks with tags
  • Sharing lists via generated links
  • Exporting and importing task data

3. User Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service
  • Not use the Service to store or share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Take responsibility for backing up your own data

4. Data Storage and Loss

Todolet stores your task data locally in your browser's localStorage. This means:

  • Your data is not uploaded to our servers
  • Clearing your browser data will delete your tasks
  • Your data does not sync between devices unless you use the share/import feature
  • We are not responsible for any data loss

We strongly recommend using the Export feature regularly to back up your data.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, logo, and content, is owned by Todolet and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service without our written permission.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Todolet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us via our Support page.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Summary: We don't collect your personal data. Your tasks stay on your device. We use minimal analytics to understand how the site is used, but we don't track individuals.

1. Introduction

Todolet ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website at todolet.app ("the Service").

We are a UK-based business and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data Controller

For the purposes of data protection law, Todolet is the data controller. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us via our Support page.

3. What Data We Collect

Data we DO NOT collect:

  • Your tasks, lists, or any content you create in Todolet
  • Personal information such as your name, email, or address
  • Account credentials (we don't have accounts)
  • Payment information (the service is free)

Data we MAY collect:

  • Analytics data: We may use privacy-focused analytics (such as Netlify Analytics or similar) to understand how visitors use our site. This may include aggregated, non-personal data such as page views, referring sites, and general geographic regions. This data cannot identify individual users.
  • Server logs: Our hosting provider may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. These logs are used for security and performance purposes and are automatically deleted after a short period.

4. How Your Data is Stored

All task data you create in Todolet is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data:

  • Never leaves your device unless you explicitly share or export it
  • Is not accessible to us or any third party
  • Can be deleted by clearing your browser data
  • Does not sync between devices or browsers

5. Sharing Lists

When you use the "Share List" feature, your task data is encoded into a URL. This data is not sent to our servers – it exists only in the link itself. Anyone with the link can decode and view the shared tasks. Please be mindful of what you share.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service may use the following third-party services:

  • Netlify: Our hosting provider. Subject to Netlify's Privacy Policy.

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or any services that profile users.

7. Cookies

We use minimal cookies. Please see our Cookie Policy below for details.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your data.
  • Right to restrict processing: You can request we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format.
  • Right to object: You can object to certain types of processing.

Since we don't collect personal data, these rights are largely not applicable. Your task data is stored locally on your device and can be exported or deleted by you at any time.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we don't collect personal data from any users, this is not a practical concern.

10. International Transfers

Our hosting provider may process data in countries outside the UK. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

12. Contact and Complaints

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us via our Support page.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (ico.org.uk).
